When you buy from J. R. West & Co., you are investing in your future. You’ll be involved every step of the way to ensure that your final custom product not only meets your exact needs but meets our high standard of heirloom quality.

We want your woodwork to be so durable that it outlasts your grandkids. (We’ve got a few rascals in our quality control department who are dedicated testers… check them out below.)

Using traditional carpentry methods, we bring function and beauty together to create pieces you can feel good about owning. Plus, with some projects, we can rescue wood that would otherwise be doomed for the landfill and turn it into a functional piece of art or furniture that you’ll be proud to own.

You’re not getting something made in a factory and designed to break down in a few months. No, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind piece of art to adorn your home and make your life easier.

With over 20 years of woodworking experience, if you can dream it, we can bring it to life. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s work together to design your next project.

The J.R. West & Co. Promise

The Family Behind J.R. West and Co.

Meet the family behind J. R. West & Co, LLC.

Jacob West

The hands behind the tools

Jacob began his woodworking journey in 2002. His modest start began in a tiny shed during his teens and launched a lifelong passion. Under the tutelage of a master carpenter, he gained a wide array of traditional woodworking knowledge as well as experimenting with modern innovations to satisfy his clients’ needs. He loves building everything from shaker-style cabinets to butcher block countertops to custom signs and cutting boards. If you can imagine it, he can make it.

Ashley West

The woman behind the man

Ashley handles the logistics. From your first phone call to receiving your final product, she is there every step of the way to ensure you get exactly what you want when you want it. She enjoys working alongside Jacob and oversees product personalization so you get the perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Tommy Hoffman

The right-hand man

Tommy is the driver, the second man in the two-man-lift, and the emotional support that keeps the workshop running smoothly.

Layla, Josie, and Autumn

The rascals-in-training

These girls are learning their daddy’s trade. They know every tool in the workshop, and they’re eager to test each new build. Their favorite parts of helping in the woodshop are sweeping and finding new ways to use scraps.

Sugar

The nanny

Corralling the kids and testing the hardiness of the supplies, Sugar is an essential member of the team. She’s always ready with a kiss.
